Today we headed back out to Route 4.
I’d almost forgotten just how terrible the weather here is. Sandstorms make it ridiculously hard to see other people, even when you’re right next to them. It almost caused us to run into a few trainers head-on.
A little ways down Route 4, we found Corless waiting for us.
He was standing in front of a bunch of rocks blocking the path. They turned out to be Pokemon, and with the quick press of a button to “energize” them, he got the entire group to move out of the way. It was pretty impressive, actually. He said that Team Plasma needed to realize it was the trainer’s job to bring out potential and stop trying to separate them from their Pokemon.
Of course, as soon as he was done with his speech, he wanted to battle, so we did.
Norman led the charge against his Magnemite.
Unfortunately for Norman, a combination of paralysis, a well place thunderbolt, and the sandstorm got him pulled back. Niles was up next.
He didn’t fair much better, a quick Spark from the Magnemite put him in to a pretty bad spot, so he had to come back as well. He did get a good shot in with Swift, though.
I think Frascher was itching to get down to business, because he jumped in without a second thought.
Frascher caught a Spark right off the bat, too, which left him with a nasty case of paralysis, but he managed to work through it and take out the Magnemite.
Corless followed up with a Klink.
It put up a pretty decent fight, but even with a Super Potion, it was no match for Frascher’s fire bad assery.
After the fight, he said that I reminded him of the Elite Four and the Pokemon Champion, and that my kindness towards my Pokemon was what made them strong. We decided to head back to the Pokecenter before striking out down the rest of Route 4.
I think we’re just going to stay here for the night before rushing back out.
