After a small memorial service for Morrigan, we started making our way towards Virbank City. Gozer and Frascher still looked down about what happened during the gym battle, but seemed to cheer up after getting farther away from Floccesy.
We got to Virbank without any trouble.
As soon as we walked through the gate, mom called and mentioned a place called the Virbank Complex and said we should head over there when we get a chance.
After getting off the phone with mom, I noticed a girl arguing with a ship captain. Apparently they’re father and daughter, and the girl is the city’s gym leader. After their argument the daughter stormed off somewhere.
I decided to explore the town, winding up at the complex after a little running around. We ran into an Elekid there that put up a pretty good fight. He almost took out Gozer, but I managed to catch him before he could do that, and now Dargon is the newest member of the Crew!
With Dargon in tow, we headed deeper into the complex, and wound up in an area where a foreman seemed to be having trouble with his workers slacking off. He asked if we could help get his workers back on track, and we agreed.
It didn’t take us long to find all of the workers that were just hanging out, so we decided to have some fun and have a few battles. Afterwards, the workers’ moral was back up where it should be and they went back to work right after.
We headed to the southern end of the complex afterwards and ran into a girl who wanted to battle.
I let Gozer take the lead seeing as she didn’t get much exercise during the previous battles. The girl sent out a Woobat, I figured this would be an easy win for Gozer and that it wouldn’t cause any problems.
I was wrong. So very, very wrong.
Gozer was looking good and kicking the Woobat’s butt all over the place at first. She continued whooping its butt until the Woobat came back with a surprise bite that laid Gozer out. She looked a bit rattled from the hit, but she didn’t move. Nothing we did could get her back up and on her feet. It was happening again. Troust finished the match with more vigor than I’d ever seen him use before. He slammed the Wootbat against the wall repeatedly with massive gusts of wind. For being so seemingly aloof, he was obviously furious. He didn’t stop slamming the Woobat into the wall until it stopped moving, even when I was shouting for him to stop. I wish I could say that I felt bad for the Woobat, but that’d make me a liar.
We ran back to the Pokecenter after the match and began preparing a funeral for Gozer. We plan to pay our respects at sunrise. Gozer will be deeply missed.
Well folks, that brings the end of another sad entry. Losing Gozer really, really sucked, but that’s the risk of the Nuzlocke. The Crew’s lost one of its oldest members and gained a new one. Is this going to be a trend? Well, you’ll just have to wait for more entries to find out, won’t you?
Be sure to come back for the next one on Friday at 8pm EST to find out.
